Ms. Shalu Chopra has pioneered authoring and publishing Spanish learning manuals over the past decade, which have been acknowledged by language experts globally, and used extensively in the Indian classrooms.

I would like to congratulate her for another path breaking attempt, this time for authoring Namaste Hindi Part-1, a Hindi learning manual for non-Hindi speakers as well Indian classrooms for beginners.

To address global audiences the manual has headings in Hindi, English, Roman Hindi, and Spanish. It is useful for teachers and learners alike. It covers the four basic skills of speaking, writing, reading, and listening through interactive exercises, role-plays and “Living the Language” sections.

Namaste Hindi Part -1 is a pioneering effort and a major contribution to the consolidation of teaching and learning of Hindi as a foreign language, and the author merits all my appreciation for it.

I have been introduced to this most fascinating book, Namaste Hindi Part-1 which has been conceived, designed and written by Shalu Chopra. The book is an amazing, pathbreaking effort, I would say, because I think for the first time in, India, we have a book for learners of Hindi as a  foreign language, and 2^nd language.

The other thing is that apart from following her scientific methodology through which Hindi can be learned, she has also developed ideas about levelling of language learning, which makes it learner centric. Because it tells the learner that if a person spends so many hours learning the language, what will they know by the end of it.

The book is extremely visual, pictorial, and it also allows the learner to find equivalences in their mother tongue or in other languages that they may know, which will augment their learning experience.

it is a very communicative approach, I see that she has used in the book whereby the learner is immersed in Hindi right from the first page, and of course, apart from the visuals, the book also has audios and Shalu has developed, for example, tongue twisters in Hindi, which she has created on her own, and adds colour to the language.

I have known Shalu and her work in the realm of foreign language training for over a decade now. Her passion for learning and teaching languages and building cultural bridges through them has been remarkable. She stands out as a pioneering author of awarded Spanish training manuals, which I have witnessed closely.

I have seen her acknowledged as a leading culture and language ambassador particularly for the entire Hispanic World in India, where she has been working relentlessly over past 2 decades with compelling impact as the Founder of Mundo Latino (Latin American Cultural Center)

To see her now launch the Vishwa Hindi School, and under that umbrella her first Hindi language training manual Namaste Hindi Part-1, is an absolute delight. She stands out once again as a creative and thought leader in the linguistic arena in India, producing a unique manual which redefines Hindi learning experience for non-native speakers, as well those looking at it as a second language in India.

I have known Shalu Chopra for the last 15 years when she was heading Mundo Latino and doing an incredible work in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language to Indian Students.
